The Coptic Orthodox Wedding of Joy and Mario in Dallas Texas
September 28, 2019

With the countdown starting to another Coptic Orthodox Wedding in Nashville next weekend that I can’t wait to cover, here’s cheers to one of my earliest and in many ways, one of my favorite Coptic Orthodox Weddings – the 2018 Dallas wedding of the wonderful Joy and Mario. As their wedding photographer of choice, everything about their traditional Egyptian wedding day brings warm and joyful memories to my mind, and I deeply hope, to theirs as well.

The ceremony that was held at the Saint Philopateer Coptic Orthodox Church in Richardson, TX, was followed by a fabulous reception at the 2616 Commerce Event Center in Dallas. This Dallas wedding venue located in heart of Deep Ellum has a picture-perfect rooftop overlooking the city with a magnificent angle of the Dallas skyline and offers many beautiful backdrops for unique, romantic and dramatic wedding pictures – a perfect setting for the wedding festivities that filled that memorable night. On a side note, as a Dallas wedding photographer with many experiences in wedding venues across DFW, I would put the Commerce Event Center in the column of photo-friendly wedding venues.

As a closing tip, if you haven’t seen an Egyptian wedding zaffa yet, find yourself an Egyptian wedding to get invited to. This wedding march is a traditional opener to many wedding receptions in Arab cultures that always brings down the house and gets everyone to their feet. It is a jubilant musical procession of dancers and musicians on drums, bagpipes and horns, all singing and dancing in unison as they welcome the bride and groom to the reception hall. For a wedding photographer, it’s a highlight of any traditional Egyptian wedding – Coptic Orthodox Wedding included. The wedding zaffa of Joy and Mario’s was definitely one to remember.

Here’s to Joy and Mario with much love from your Dallas Wedding Photographer that will always be honored to have covered your wedding.
