The Bishop Arts District - Dallas Engagement Session of Allison and Trishan
September 25, 2022

My latest engagement session with the lovely Allison and Trishan in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas was so much fun. The edgy and colorful setting located in the heart of Oak Cliff was picked by the couple as a backdrop for their photo session and they couldn’t have chosen a more fitting scene. With cute store fronts, coffee shops and charming little boutiques, the Bishop Arts District offered a lot of cool backgrounds for an urban-themed engagement photo shoot and was just right for this couple.

During this Sunday session, as in every engagement photo shoot, I got to know the bride and groom-to-be a little more closely. We chatted away as they posed, flirted, hugged and got to feel comfortable being intimate in my presence. I got to learn how they met, what their Dallas engagement location of choice meant to them and much more. Allison simply had a close connection to the Bishop Arts District where she used to spend a lot of time and has built sweet memories that made it a meaningful setting to share with her fiancé for their romantic engagement photo session.

I always stress to the couple I work with how helpful and important an engagement session is to break the ice and get them to feel at ease around me and my camera before the wedding day. I remind them that on their wedding day, I will be around the whole time capturing some of the most emotional moments of their lives, so what better way could there be to build that all-important chemistry with the lovely couple than a stroll in the city streets with love in the air, stories to share and a camera to capture it all?

Allison and Trishan have picked New Year’s Eve as their wedding day – what a wonderful time of new beginnings to start a new chapter and live a new dream. I’m thrilled to be part of their Dallas wedding celebrations and, to echo the couple’s sentiment at the end of our session, I can’t wait.

Here are few photos from our session at the Bishop Arts District in Dallas. If you are looking for a wedding photographer in Dallas or for any destination, I invite you to look through my portfolio, the blog and the galleries on this site to see more examples and send me a note because I sure want to hear from you, get to know you and capture your wedding.
