Sylvea and Puneet got married in the Big Apple earlier this year. While I was not their New York wedding photographer, I had the chance to meet them and photograph the intimate reception Puneet’s parents threw for them in Dallas to celebrate with their friends who missed their NYC wedding.
Punett’s parents, Shree and Sukriti, learned about me from longtime friends of mine. Anu and Ravi, whom I have known for almost 20 years are close friends and true fans of my work. I’ve shot a number of weddings through their recommendations including the Dallas wedding reception of their own daughter. They have a special closely knit community of friends including Puneet’s parents that they’ve built from work and hobbies like hiking, travel, and bird watching.
Sylvea and Puneet’s reception was at the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas, a nature enclave that speaks to the friend group’s love of nature. The center is located in the Great Trinity Forest which offers hiking trails amid a haven for a vast collection of birds and other wildlife. The venue itself is beautiful. With its large floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a fairytale setting that combines amazing architecture with the beauty of nature – the perfect spot for a unique event.
For Sylvea and Puneet, it made for an intimate event that brought together a closely knit group of friends to celebrate the wedding couple. Just listening to some of the speeches highlighted how intimate everyone was and how far back their friendship goes.
In this gorgeous setting, I had the chance to steal the couple from their guests for a brief romantic session. Here are some photos from that night.
